What is Smartrunk?

SmarTrunk II is a world-standard radio trunking protocol for use with frequencies below 800mHz. The SmarTrunk II system consists of a trunking controller which interfaces to a full duplex base station or repeater and a mobile logic board installed inside a mobile or portable radio. The system allows trunking of up to 16 channels for both dispatch and radiotelephone applications.

SmarTrunk II's robust digital signaling protocol performs well even in weak signal conditions with high immunity to hackers and pirates. Best of all, SmarTrunk II can be added to existing repeaters without being affected by conventional users on the same channels. This permits gradual conversion of your conventional repeater system to an efficient, multi-channel trunked system.

SmarTrunk II controllers and logic boards are available for over 40 makes and models of portable radios from 10 different manufacturers.
